The oil and gas industry is used to the highs and lows of economic cycles; however, the last few years have been challenging. As we celebrate 25 years of service, we want to thank those who stayed with us throughout the uncertain times, we are most grateful for your faith in us and this exciting ride called the oil and gas industry. Your trust in us as a vendor partner helped us survive.

I Have Been from my Nose to my Toes in Oil

As CEO of Intercon Messaging, my first experience in oil and gas was in the '60s. My uncle had a Baroid Mud Franchise that expanded from Peace River, Alberta, to the far reaches of northern Alberta. In the winter, we used our grain trucks to haul drilling mud, cement, weight material, and loss of circulation material to the drilling rigs. Our family farm in Keg River survived and thrived because of the opportunity to generate additional revenue from the oil and gas exploration in the Rainbow Lake area. 

Oil has been my lifetime livelihood. After leaving the farm, I cooked in a trucking camp in Zama, then moved onto sales and dispatch for a hotshot service, worked as a truck push moving drilling rigs and oilfield equipment, eventually becoming involved in the Upstream Petroleum Waste Processing Industry. So I get what it's like to open and close a valve at -30C. I get what it's like to move fluid. I get what it's like to have a spill. I understand what it's like to be an operator.

Canada is the 5th largest producer globally, emitting only a mere 0.33% of the world's emissions. And in Alberta, we have the most advanced environmental regulatory framework in the world.
